Self-Care Summer: Day 2/100
Some times I think self-care includes checking things off your to-do list. There is something about checking off a task that’s been hovering in the background of your mind. It’s like it releases just the right amount of mental real estate. Tackling tasks that I avoid gives me so much relief.
It relaxes me instantly. When my spaces are clean and clear of clutter my mind feels the same way.
I made tremendous progress in this closet today. I’ll post an “after” photo when I’m done. Hopefully I’ll finish up tomorrow.
By the time I got to a good place with this project it was time to make dinner. Tonight I made roasted chicken, roasted broccoli and a scalloped potato thing I bought at Costco. This meal is another favorite of their’s. I love it because it involves minimal effort on my behalf. Dinner tonight needed to be quick and effortless because more ambitious me signed us for a 5:00 Pilates class.
That level two class completely gassed me. I don’t have a picture because people are starting to chat after class now that we’ve seen each other enough. It only took seven months. After Pilates my husband and I took a walk around the neighborhood. We held hands and talked junk about everyone’s landscaping. It’s the romance for me, lol.
I joined the Peloton 100 Days of Summer challenge.
That evening walk always hits better than the morning walk. Maybe that’s because there’s no pressure in the evening. I’m walking for vibes and not steps.
After our walk we watered my plants before having dinner. Another tomato is ready to ripen inside. This will always be so cool to me. Like that lady told the Duchess, “It’s like printing your own money.” Today was a good day. I got started on a task that needed to get done. Pilates was incredible.
Self-care on Tuesday will probably look a lot like it did today. I can feel the stress levitating from my body when I take care of all the little things I put off.
See you tomorrow! 🖤✨
