Self-Care Summer: 3/100
Right now (8pm EST) I’m sitting by the window reading the June book club book of the month, Invisible Life. I wanted to start this month’s book early. Part of what I love about book club is reading everyone’s comments on our discussion thread at the beginning of the month.
Being in a book club has increased my reading time by quite a bit. It’s the accountability I think I always needed to be a consistent reader.
My day started with a slower start than usual. When I woke up I decided to watch a couple episodes of The Chi. I’m on the season where the older man helps Kevin’s sister escape from that man’s house.
Crazy. But I still think I’m quitting the show. 😆
I had coffee on the back porch before getting dressed to run another errand I had been putting off. My car’s oil change light started giving me the side eye. I just know this car has been calling me all kinds of trifling for letting the oil get as low as it did.
On the way to the dealership I made a quick stop to the library to pick up my holds. I also picked up a book about interior design. I’m determined to decorate.
While in the library I ran into a friend. In that moment I was so glad that I had decided to put on real clothes.
An oil change took two hours today. Honda oughta be ashamed. I’m so glad I had my books and headphones. My Mamasté playlist and this book on decorating with color helped me pass the time.
This older model Honda sits on display in the service department waiting area. It is so cute to me.
For dinner I had a pizza. I added a pepper from my garden and some red onion to a California Pizza Kitchen Sicilian pizza. It was so spicy and so good.
I ate this whole thing. It was perfect.
Tomorrow I have a busy day planned. It’s a fun mix of activities. And by fun I mean I’m going to the big nice farmer’s market and Pilates. In between the those two activities I’ll make time to finish my closet.
Having a clean(er) closet has its benefits. I found this brand new tube top. When I bought this I probably told myself it would make the perfect top to a Summer Canadian tuxedo.
See you tomorrow! 🖤✨
