Self-Care Summer: 5/100
This morning I made it outside to the back porch for not one but two cups of coffee. I read several chapters of my book. These characters have a stronghold on me. I’m so invested in Raymond’s story.
Who will he end up with? Will his heart get broken? Does Kelvin come back in the end? We shall see…
After a few hours of porch bliss I realized it was time to head back inside to make something to eat. Today I decided to use the pasta, skirt steak and kale from the farmers market. Delicious wouldn’t even begin to cover it.
This under 30 minute meal was a fun cook. Creating in the kitchen really is self-care for me.
My garden loss 6 tomatoes today. My plant got knocked over by a clumsy child. A moment of mindfulness kept me from crashing out. Sometimes self-care is a few deep breaths.
I’ll let these sit for a few days before attempting to fry them.
I’m looking forward to Pilates tomorrow morning. It’s another Suspend/TRX 1.5 level class. Hopefully this class will be the workout I’ve been craving.
I never made it to my closet today. 😩 My new goal is to finish this weekend. 😆 Anyways, right now I’m trying to decide between reading more chapters of my book or going for an evening walk… I think saving my legs for class in the morning is the right answer.
Let’s see what Raymond is up to. He’s at home with his family for Christmas. I’m wondering if he’ll spend NYE with Quinn? Or Kyle and JJ? Is Kelvin coming back into the picture? I must know how this story ends by Sunday. I’m going to read the July book club selection this month and I’m going to read Kennedy Ryan’s new book as my beach read.
I really want to buy Kennedy’s new book from the new super cute black-owned bookstore that just opened up. Maybe I’ll go one day this week…
See you tomorrow! 🖤✨
