Self-Care Summer: 4/100

I don’t think I’ve smiled this hard about buying groceries in a while. Finding that KitchenAid pasta attachment on clearance at Kroger is the only thing I can compare today’s joy to. A friend invited me to the Dekalb Farmers Market for her regular grocery run. I have been smiling ever since.

Joy at the farmers market.

Nothing and no one prepared me for how fresh and affordable everything was. This spoke to my grocery store loving heart and quite possibly several of my love languages. I had a time, lol. On the way out I bought a coffee and even that was good. I will absolutely be back.

I must also share that on the way home we saw a man on a horse. It was the icing on my adventure cake. We got the best laugh from seeing a Decatur Cowboy. (I do not know if that’s a real thing but he was in Decatur on a horse so…)

At the farmers market I bought some red snapper to test out the seafood. As soon as I got home I seasoned it and popped it in the oven like Chrissy Tiegen taught me. I didn’t have any lemons but I did have fresh fennel and tomatoes and garlic.

Please respect my privacy as I spontaneously combust.

Salty, Spicy, Garlicky, Fennel-y Fish

Absolutely delicious.

Tonight I went to the 5:00 level 1.5 Suspend class. This is the TRX class. Class was okay. It definitely wasn’t the hardest class I’ve ever done. I was looking forward to a tough workout and tonight just wasn’t that. I don’t know how much longer I’ll be going to class at 5 anyway. It feels like a misplaced speed bump in the flow of my day.

Suppressing my frustrations.

Today was good. The highlight of my day was laughing with my friend as I gasped at everything at the farmers market. Tomorrow I’m going to finish my closet project. It’s suppose to rain so I’d also really love to sit out on the porch while I read a few chapters of my book. I got some new tea bags that I’d like to try too.

A relaxing rainy day at home sounds like the perfect Thursday.

See you tomorrow! 🖤✨
