Self-Care Summer: 9/100

Monday, girl. I slept until about 8. As soon as I got up I did my daily walk to beat the rain. During my walk a yorkie with an orange mohawk walked up to me and played dead right at my feet.

I’m not kidding. It’s like he walked up to me and surrendered. Or maybe he was asking me to take him home? I said hello to him and he immediately high tailed it back to wherever he came from.

I can’t bring anymore living beings into my house and I also didn’t feel like playing pet detective. His hairstyle told me someone somewhere loved him. They need to keep a better eye on him. I’m so glad he didn’t follow me because then I would’ve HAD to have a whole Ray Finkle of a morning walk.

Sometimes self-care is not letting other people’s problems become your own.

You already know I went to my level 2 class tonight. I can feel every part of my quads and glutes. People were chatty at class tonight and I enjoyed it.

Tonight after dinner (I had the sole serving of leftovers.) I wanted to have a dessert. My husband bought frozen yogurt (I think by mistake tbh). I used it to make a quick little sundae of sorts.

It was delicious. The fact that it taste so much like ice cream made me very happy.

I’m looking forward to tomorrow. My goal is to get my workout done early. I want to do my hair and nails. There’s a face mask that I want to try too. I bought it during our trip to Saint Lucia in March. Ask me how many times I’ve used it?

Zero.

I appreciated the downtime I had today. I need to do this more often. Note to self.

See you tomorrow! 🖤✨
